running on a cold and windy day

Don't worry about it, theres a fine line between lung beastings and chestyness. Don't let a minor hic up put you off target. In my opinion, no one is perfect all of the time even superfit fella's would get a tight chest now and then. I'd say just get on with it, ofcourse if it becomes frequent everytime you run in the cold then thats another issue.

Yuri, et al, you will get a sore throat, burning lungs and prodigious amounts of snot just doing the assault course and warm up, so gfet used to the effect.
It proves you are alive, if nothing else!

just went for a run it is cold as hell there is snow on the ground and i was running into a fast wind, i didn't notice any wheeze during the run i felt good but as soon as i stopped i got a burning throat and slight wheeze, but it all went away after 10 minutes inside in the warm. I don't have a tightness in my chest and i don't cough at all, its just a wheeze and sore throat but no trouble breathing. I'm really not sure if that is asthma or just a beasting in the cold.

stop panicking. go and see a doctor if your worried but if it doesnt both you then just ignore it.

cold air dries the airways out hence why some people get these symptoms. at the end of teh day if you can run, run. if you can't, dont.

The short answer to your question is yes, but most people don't, or recommend not to. It's not in your best intrest to smoke at all.

I dont smoke myself-i asked if anyone did to see if there was any similarity between those who did and those who got out of breath on cold/windy days.

I do, I don't get wheezy on cold/windy days, but I do get sore throat in the cold...but I think most people get that??
