Navy Aircrew

Post by B_H100 »

Has anybody else seen the advert in some magazines showing a Navy winchman in a disaster area? I was just wondering if people were able to join directly into this trade/branch and if you join or transfer into this at a higher rank as with the RAF's WSOp Air Loadmaster, as I cannot find any info on this on the Navy's website. Also, if anyone has any experience/info on the training, that would be handy.

Any replies greatly appreciated,

Cheers

Ben

Hi BH,

There is no direct entry to the Aircrewman branch. You have to join as something else, then go for selection. If you pass selection and can be spared from source branch, you will get to go to aircrewman school. The course is no dawdle and includes lots of number crunching as well as the good old escape and evasion fun.

Hope this helps.
