You could always ask your training team for time off to watch the football, mabay you could share their TV when out in the field, if none of those work perhaps you could record the games and watch them between the hours of 00:00 and 05:30 - which is generally the allocated 'personal time' given to recruits.
hope this helps

Well said gash hand.
On our parents day my family was told we had plenty of free time. and its right, we normally finish about 4 most days, sometimes even earlier. so, as long as:
1) you've prepared your rigs for the next day (1/2 hr to 2 hrs)
2) prepared your kit muster (has taken us as long as 13 hrs b4, altho that was our first, now it only takes about 9 after being in the field) which you get more often than you like,
3) you haven't got any extra parades or aren't on poor admin routine
4) you haven't got a room mate like i have who is THE loudest person in NATO and stays up most of the night making me sleep with my pillow wrapped round my head.
then the rest of the night is yours, but i can pretty much promise you you'll want to climb into bed ASAP.
don't get me wrong, this isn't the same every day. some weeks are relatively easy, staying on camp and needing only a few rigs the admin is less. our training team did give us a few more kit musters tho just to keep us occupied but when you haven't used the kit it isn't hard.
weekends are a lot better tho, you do get quite a lot of free time but mostly spend it in exeter getting pissed and being refused entry to any night clubs.
just be ready for it not to be a 9 til 5.

hi fevernova, it doesn't matter how much of an advantage you have, unfortunately, kit musters simply take lots of time, they involve laying out nearly every bit of kit you've been issued and it all has to be immaculate, and nearly every time, the cpl only looks at one thing.

all the clubs are no forces and having no hair is a pretty good sign that your in, plus, and a doorman actually told us this, we're the only people who go out looking smart, the exeter locals apparently dont make as much of an effort.
there's a cybercafe (i use that term loosely) in the church which i think is alright, go quite late in the evening and theres nearly always a free pc, costs 50p for 15 mins tho.
