5minute maximum for sure...although if you get that you ought to be a truck driver not a potential marine...although i got 4:15 i think when i went down and was disapointed with this time...sub 4 minutes is acceptable really

cheers, davo

Don't forget guys, when you do it for real you'll be wearing boots and denims and carrying 30lb of kit, and you also start it after the 30ft rope climb and a 'brisk' :D warm up by the PTI's.

You should probably be aiming for somewhere around 3 - 3.30 on your prc, that should equate to about 4 - 4.30 for real.

Doh I did it in 4:16 with a nice dip in the oggin on the monkey bars. Gave the cpl a laugh when I wit in head first. He wasn't too impressed with the expletives when I surfaced however. That was a biatch as i fell near the end first time round. Second crossing was VERY slow as I was trying to hold on by my finger nails, feckin no grip with wet hands. Running the rest in the heavier kit was a pain but least I was nice and cool when it came to running up the hill...

Sad thing is I am actually looking forward to getting back there. Determined to get sub 3:30 next time.

I got 3.15 on my first crack on PRMC, couple of lads got sub 2.50 though. Bear that in mind, aim high and don't bother with the minimums. Attack it 100%, you can't ask any more of yourself than that, though the PTIs may disagree! I got 4.18 during BPT with all kit. It's nails!...but good fun looking back on it now

I saw a promo video for the marines where a bloke is running through water with a few blokes in the background behind him. Then he is told to get on his knees and shoved through a water filled tunnel (where he snags his trousers). I was wondering- whats the time difference between each one of you setting off on the course- i mean- if you caught up with the bloke infront youd have a brief sec to catch your breath?

Thats the Endurance course mate, one of the commando tests...room

which is ran as a troop i believe? so you and a few others do it as a small group and help each other but at the end of the day its you individual time that counts...

cheers, davo
