Like how many people apply for the non commisseioned aircrew jobs? are they looking for new recruits all the time or are your chances slim?

What are the chances

As with many jobs in the RAF, you're in competition with other candidates. The trade you're interested in involves a lengthy selection process, including a 3 day selection course at the Officer and Aircrew Selection Centre at RAF Cranwell. The AFCO will be able to give you all the details, and you can seek advice on this forum, but be advised that in order to be successful you will need to research your chosen trade in depth, show a high level of determination and motivation, and demonstrate the potential to be an RAF SNCO and WsOp.
As far I'm aware, there is usually a steady flow of potential NCO aircrew students into the system, again the AFCO will be better placed to advise you.

There are several NCO Aircrew trades available for civilian entry:
Airloadmaster
Weapon Systems Operator
Weapon Systems Operator (Linguist)
For all three trades you need to approach your AFCO and they'll explain everything to you. Generally, you need 5x GCSE (C+) including maths and english language (+ foreign language for linguist). You'll get a presentation at the AFCO, followed shortly after by an interview. If you're successful thus far, you go to the Officer and Aircrew Selection Centre at RAF Cranwell for a 3 day selection process (same process as Officers go through).
There ARE always vacancies (in fact there are shortages), but they don't compromise on standards...so it's entirely dependant on whether you pass the selection procedures.
