Leaving The Country During Leave On Basic..

Does anyone know if its possible to go abroad when your on leave during basic training?

Any feedback appreciated.

Yeah you can theres 3 lads in my troop who are going on hoilday over christmas holidays. Hope that helps

Was told I would have to give 4 weeks notice prior to leaving the country the only exception is the first long weekend break when as soon as you arrive at foundation make it known. After a good few months you don't have to give notice anylonger.

You need permission to leave the UK throughout your service! I've done 23 years and still have to request it.
CO "that's a very nice tan you got there son, where've you been?"

Marine "Oh I went to Iran on me hols, very nice people they were, they were very interested in the Marines too, oh we did have a very nice chat with this bloke"

CO "Did he have a turban and a long beard and go by the name Ozzy?"

Marine "Aye yeah do ya know 'im like?" :oops:
