your allowed to stop for a rest????!!!!????

Dont the PTIs frown upon this????

I mean you could do about 30/40 in well under a minute, rest for 15 secs, then smash out another 20 and a presto..????

just checking, your elbows have to be tucked in right danny???

I see that makes sense,i wanna be able to do at least 80 press ups before i do the PRMC(can currently do 45),i havent even taken the interview yet so i have plenty of time to improve.

one last thing, how tired did your arms feel before you did the press ups...?

Not even a little bit tierd. I always seem to find press-ups easier if i have been on a run or done any cv work

i did 41 on my prmc but have cut back and focusing on weights for a month before i restart training for my next PRMC. I want to get a higher, general upper body phys strength as this will help alot when training for prmc and recruit training. Running 4.5/5 miles to gym 3/4 times a week 2 hours weights walk back..start press ups/pulls on monday. Hopefully 60plus PRMC in Jan.

I found that if you hav a 2/3 second rest you wouldnt get bollocked but able to knock out one or two....slow down on the ups till ur arms lock....i went for the full 2minutes n still only did 41 so some rest is allowed within reasons.

I too find press ups easier after a run or a few minutes marking time...i geuss its something to do with blood been pupped, more oxygenated etc.....and the heart is ready for strenious activity instead from cold and having to get the blood flowing

Cheers, davo

Just a quick question (I seem to have got different answers from different sources):

Sit-ups - hands on head, elbows/head/back to floor, elbows to front of knees.
Press-ups - hands at shoulder width (makes it a lot bloody harder), chest to v.low.
Chin-ups - overgrasp, fully extended arm down...any notes on how far apart your hands should be??

Everything right??

Cheers

You got the sit ups correctly...arms have to touch the the mat on the way down and elbows have to touch the top of your knees, they are strict on this!

It is up to you how far your arms are apart on the pull-ups, i did not hear anyone get told to move thier grip.

Your elbows have to be tucked into your side as much as possible, after you done a few you are given a little leeway as you are tierd so an inch or two was allowed on mine, i know that mine wherent rubbin skin all the time.

cheers, davo
