British Petroleum has a fair share of blood on their hands as well. I know, I used to work for them.

I have to voice my disagreement.
I can see no other reason for this war.
As I see it, nowt much has changed in the last two years ref Iraq. His stock of chemical or biological agents have not significantly increased, he has no nuclear capability and if he gets close to that, Elmer can send the Israelis to bomb the gaff again.
The policy of containment, while causing problems for the general populace, was working.
No links with Osama, no “weapons of mass destruction” no more terrorist training facilities than others in the region. So what changed?
My view is the oil lobby finally got an oil man into the White House. Who will control the world’s oil supply for the next thirty years is what this is about.
Whilst I’ve got your attention, I am fed up hearing WMD used to describe small amounts of chemical or biological weapons, or to describe heavy machine guns artillery or tanks. A fifty kiloton warhead is a weapon of mess destruction; a flask full of Sarin is not.

A 50 kiloton bomb isnt even that bad in the scheme of things, it could play hell on a city but its no global killer, usually of the gravity fission variety. Most of the educated agree that the wrost part about chem and bio terror is just that. The terror aspect of it. Cities being evacuated until the all clear is sounded. Econmies temporarily shutting down. People duct taping themselves in their basements etc. etc. The problem is people like me. People who arent willing to stand quiet for the next terrorist enterprise. I respect the desire for peace, I really do, but I just cant see how another 20 years of pussy footing around with these low lifes will be of any benefit to us. I think I'll just adress the threat now and spare my kids the burden of it. "WMD'S" of the chemical variety if delivered correctly would probably only kill 5,000-10,000 folks unfortuanately there are people like me who have allready lost friends to terrorism and arent willing to lose another 5 or 10. And then a war begins.

Well the point is Ranger, and you may have gathered this from reading the numerous posts on the subject, for us 'Terrorism' has been a fact of life for the past 32 years. Over 3000 lives have been wasted in that period, most of us have lost friends and comrades. We don't make disparaging comments lightly or with malice. Our experience has probably helped your law enforcement agencies cope with your own horrors.

What really grips us is when we are told that the US of A will wipe out terrorism at a stroke. People from the US conveniently forget that much of what has been hammering Northern Ireland for years has been sponsored by ignorant bigots who claim Irish descent, but have only ever lived the American dream. I know they are relatively few in number, but their dollars paid for the mines and M16s.

Terrorists are the ultimate enemy, difficult to identify, separate from their environment and deal with. We afford Terrorists the luxury of Law and Courts, their targets get semtex and bullets. Before I go off on my hobby horse I'd suggest a rethink before any lectures on terrorism and world dominion are offerred to this particular group of former Bootnecks.

Haaaarummpph! :o
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.

Point taken, but you had to expect a different response to it by Americans. Lets see how it pans out.

I am fully aware that 50 kilotons is small beer, I am allso fully aware it can be transported in a diplomatic bag( diplomatic sea container, in reality) and moved around the target city in the boot (trunk) of a car(automobile)
Interesting, you say terrorism started on 11 9( 9 11).
Young Mr McVeigh, what was he then? Freedom fighter against an oppresive regime, perhaps.
Most of the educated agree that the wrost part
Are you including yerself in that statement?

Don`t tell us about the Karen, son. enough of us know their sad story. If they have become 90-odd% evangelican christian, it shows how desparate they have become. My uncle fought with them to defeat the Jap in Burma. You remember Burma, don`t you Tex? That was the one where Errol Flynn liberated the country single-handed. That we left the Karen to the tender mercies of the Burmese after the war is still shamefull for my old uncle. God help them if they are victims of your idea of "help"
Any guesses who arms Burma? Besides UK of course?

Just curious. How many time have you been to Burma? For a group of people who have not put down the sword for 47 years any help is appreciated. You seem to think the best thing for them is total abandonment. By the way. There were Americans in Burma during WWII as well. Or did you think your uncle went it alone?

No, of course he didn’t, silly.
Errol was there to hold his hand.
Not many Yanks turn to for Burma Star parades, as I recall.

"When you go home,
Think of us and say,
For your tomorrow, we gave our today"

Are you familiar with those words?
Or the words,” Poke it"
And don`t tell me what I think

I'm still wondering if you have ever been to Myanmar or worked with the Karen personally. You seem on the verge of accusing me of getting my only knowledge of the place and situation from a movie I never even watched. But it seems like your experience may have came from you uncles war stories. No matter.

About McVeigh. He wasnt part of a terrorist movement. He was an idiot who deserved what he got.

I’ve never been to Burma, never been to Myanmar. I just know a man who has.I doubt you have, except in your most damp dreams.
I don`t like you. I don`t like your filth. The people you despise share your genes. They are human beings.
I have acquaintances who know me. I have mates who like me and I have friends and family who love me. Normal human relationships, it’s called.
None of that for you though. You live in a vacuum of hate. A vacuum where you are the only one who knows the way. You give me the shits.
As a Moderator of this site, I’m on your case, sweetheart. You’ll get fed up before I do. You don`t belong here, so just leave.
