I dont see why i shouldnt of failed if i had finished, i have no ankle left due to the boots on the bottom field, 4 sizes 2 small and eating like fat man on a diet at my ankle!

Gym test, when i was watching seemed to be intense but very passable!

56 went down, 28 passed

cheers, dave

I have just over 8 weeks to prepare for it now. Any tips on prep training?

On Day two you do the USMC test which is the bleep test, press ups etc then after scan you do the bottom field.

Tips: Practice army crawling on your knees and elbows as they will be cut to shreds, marking time for around 5 minutes after any excersice no matter how f**ked you may feel...as you will be worse down there...

My CPL at the AFCO said work on upperbody more but i can safely say its just the same and in equal quanaties of upper and lower body!!!!

ASAP really mate, he said four months so for months it is, jacked in college and going to become bruce lee in the time, no way i am failing again only to do that bottom field for three times!!!!

i now know what to expect, what to work on, how to work on it etc so should be a realtively simple procedure..

January/Febs will be a likely date i am thinking, find out on monday roughly when i goto my AFCO

Good luck then, don't go to hard at it and go and injure yourself now though.

i would agree with davo, too much emphasis is on your upperbody. The afco should be telling you about the bottom field warm up as it is really intense especially when it is 28degrees and you are not allowed any water

If you got a low score on your mechanic and comprehension part of your test you must get to atleast level 11 on the beep test or you will get an automatic fail.one guy in my room only got to 9.5 on the bleep test so that was him failed it on the first thing.

To be honest gym test 1 isnt that hard if you have prepeared for it,even though a few guys were sick during it

Gym test one is the easiest thing you will do all week, if you cant do Royal Marine style press ups you are buggered, you may think you can try and bluff it....good luck, the lad i was counting got 11..why go down if you can only do 11 press ups?? another lad got no pull ups...same applies why go down? you have no chance of passing!!!

PTI's and CPL's will pick up on any air between your knees and take away five, if your sick, your laying in it till the excersise has stopped.

You may however get a second chance at pull ups....if you fail under three the PTI might send you to the back of the que if you fell off or slipped...only leaverage you will get!!!!

Nothing is hard if you are prepared...i admit, my aerobic was a bit below what i felt it should have been to pass comfortablly and this showed...2miles into the run....GAME OVER!!

make sure you can, easily do everything that is requried if not more!

I now know what to expect and will train as much as possible to getthere, 4 months time i should exceede the PRMC standards and start basic march if all goes to plan!

Good effort Davo and Mark. It's important you take the positives out of your experience down at CTC and not look at it as a failure.

Good luck with your training and preperation for your next attempt, if it doesn't work out you could always join the Army - now that should get you motivated :D :D
