Tarzan/Endurance course pictures

Post by Chester »

Wondering what the Tarzan & Endurance courses will be like ?

Click here for the 'Tarzan Course' layout

..... and click here for the layout of the 'Endurance Course' (Minus the 4 mile run back to CTC)

Unfortunately, knowing what kind of obstacles are on the courses doesn't make it any easier whatsoever

Just gives you an idea of what to expect......

Hmmm, "Death Slide" - I'm surprised that is still allowed in today's health and safety regulations, and that's just the name!
As for "Old Butts" - There is no way that should be allowed under regulations, its blatantly sexual.

The bits inbetween marked areas on the endurance course, could you give an overview of what kind of terrain to expect? Will be attending POC in near future you see..(oh joy)...

Just one point. After you finish the chasm swing (10) you then go straight onto the assault course which will bring you round in a loop back to the 30ft wall.

Just thought i'd let you know

Chester when do you do the Tarzan & Endurance courses, are they in week 30 of the course, or do you regular training on them ?

There's two water tunnels 'side-by-side' - they look like sewer pipes or something of that width (2.5ft wide x 5ft ?) with a big slab of concrete over the top where you put your weapon whilst you are pushing someone through / being pushed through yourself.

The pipes are totally submersed and it is a very quick cure for Claustrophobia - I guarantee it!

It's not as bad as it seems once you get out the other end - the 'emergency scrots' in my kit weren't used anyway ;)

You come into contact with the Tarzan Course at the PRMC but I dont think you do it all (I may be wrong there). I know though that the endurance course is not until recruit training and is actually one of the four commando tests.

How fast do the two courses have to be done in?

Tarzan and asssault combined 12 or 13 minutes.
Endurance plus run back to CTC 80 minutes.
9 Miler 90 minutes
30 Miler 8 hours
All done in fighting order with weapon, above are recruit times (32 Lbs plus weapon).
Enjoy
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.
