21 minutes I think, or 1.5 miles as a troop, then the next 1.5 miles best time, usually less than 11 minutes to be safe.

My best time - 19.56

Tut tut tut tut. It's 22.5 minutes (and the PTIs ask you; it's a 7.5min mile), though it's run in as close to 22 minutes as they can get it. It's fairly easy and by far the easiest of the PRMC tests. My PB is around the 19 min mark but I need to time it tommorrow to get seconds :D

hard for me

Post by yapudan »

it's weird but out of the whole prmc I think the 3 mile run was the hardest. Just because I was so spent from how hard I pushed myself the days before. I guess some people stengths ar ethere endurance others there power.

I'm confused :-?

So when do you do the 3 mile run by yourself and when do you do it half as troop and half best time?

PRMC- 3 miles done with troop in 22.5 minutes

PRMRC (or RMR selection, whatever it's called)- 1.5 miles with troop in 15 minutes, 1.5 miles best time (under 11.30, but under 9.30 is needed to guarantee a pass for that bit)

lads lads the run is 22.5 mins , but before you get there make dam sure you can do it tired cause ur gonna be hanggin out from the previous pt and the "gentle warm up" they describe in the brochure aint so gentle when you just got beasted by the corprals the night before ! the actuall format of the run is as a squad short guys at the front lankeys at the back the last few hundred meters are personal best and you push it out individually . my personal best last year was bout 15 mins im back home now and doin it in 17 my advice is do ur strength trainning ie press ups etc then go on the run . hope that helps matt :D

I found the bottom field was easily the hardest. It was worse in a way because I knew what was coming...When the corporal said, "Right lads, we're gonna warm you up now before we get started," I knew that 'get started' meant sprinting up and down hills for 30 minutes before even getting shown the assault course. Plus your nerves are a bit shakey from swaying all over the place at 25 ft on those ropes!

'matthewl', how the hell did you run 3 miles in 15 minutes? And I found it pretty easy despite my personal best being in the low 20 minutes at the time. I'm a tall bugger so I was right at the back with the corporals going, "God, you're a long f*cker!" and "Did you know you're failed White Six?" I just smiled and carried on running!

Whehey! I'll be leading the pack then :)
And 15 minutes :o , I'll need to have a go at that speed, see what happens...

Me too, I'm only 5ft 8 so I'm sure I'll be upfront.

I'm getting quite nervous at the moment :( , I'm always the same, I should just knuckle down and enjoy myself but I always fear things will be worse than they are.

I think if I trip on anything it will be my pressups but I'm hoping a good assault course time and Bleep should se my through.

Damn I'm nervous, that's why I have been visiting the forums much lately, the less I think about it the less nervous I become.

I was the same for the Apptitude, the Interview and the medical.

5ft 8! Ya lanky sod! I'll still be in front of you. :)

You may be nervous, but on the day if you do your absolute best then you can't complain, at least you had a go, more than some would do. You can leave CTC thinking "Yeah, that was hard, I did my best and thats that." If you pass then you can be proud, if not, you can still be proud that you tried.

So what if things get worse, it just means the only way from that point is up. Maybe its me but never seem to get nervous, I have exams next week, couldn't give a toss, but yet I need A's to get into Uni. :-?

My downfall will be pull ups and possibly the ropes. I dont see the ropes being a problem when im there as peer preasure will no dought get my ass across. Oh and im 6ft 1/2 so ill probably be at the back having the corporals encouraging me on , and of course the DAF (truck) up my arse

if you do your training at 7 min miles you`ll be ok.dont neglect upper body strength though you`ll need it on the bottom field
