All things in Moderation! I have just read, and deleted [something the now seldom seen writer predicted, correctly, would happen] a post which contributed nothing to the thread other than personal abuse.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I don't know who told you to go away or stay away, but if it was a Moderator then he presumably had a reason. Though I only gained a brief mention as he with the nimble fingers, I certainly don't recall doing that myself, and besides, I have better things to do with my tired brain than worry about such trivial matters.

My experience with this site is greater than anyone else's, including yours. That's just a fact, and not introduced for any other reason than it is just that. In that time, I can only recall about three or four people who have 'spat the dummy' and taken themselves off in a huff.Given the total number of members now, that puts those in a very low minority.

That experience of Moderators also tells me that they are not now, and never have been in the 'thought police' mode. What mode they are in is about keeping it clean , legal, free from slander, inappropriate language, name calling, slagging off, and general other unsocial behaviour. The only action ever taken by any moderator, indeed the only action that can be taken, is to edit or remove that which offends. No moderator can remove anyone from the site.

Nor are the Moderators anonymous. Never have been. You know who they are, and where they live, and what they do, so to cast aspersions as you have suggests to me that you are the one with the problem. You are the only one in step!

I don't particularly care what your view is of me. I'm no different from any other member,I just happen to also be a moderator. The fact that I have opinions makes me no different from you.

That was in reply to someone who dared to ask what had happened to the site oops missed the H out in site :fist:

Aha, The Natives have rebelled, note where the Nobbler allegedly claims he knows nothing about the closed threads. I have edited the names out

closing of threads Having just logged on i have only had time to visit the first thread to find it has been closed.I take very strong objection, having paid for the privilage of visiting this site, only to find once again that it is being censored. At my age i like to think i can make my own judgement without having it intercepted by the sensitivities of those, having the athourity to close thread's,doing just that.If you cant stand the heat, stay out of the I'M A SCAMMER SPAMMER!!!.

I visited the thread as well and can see nothing in it to warrant the closure. I most strenuosly object as well.

,

I closed a number of threads this morning which I believe have run their course.

You're not being censored - due to the amount of threads now active each day, we're keeping them trim.

Hope that answers any concerns.

Many thanks,

I sent No. a PM about a missing thread, 'tatoo life' and he didnt know it had disappeared. Could be a computer problem at SP end of the line, or it's accidentally been deleted.

I am in 100% agreement with your posting. The only fault I can find, is with your spelling of authority. I would not like to see sp become a regime. In general terms ex. servicement fought for democracy and freedom of speeech.
Regimes do not tolerate either.
I expect your thread to be closed. Next time you look for it, you will wonder if it ever existed.

Hi,

Appreciate the feedback. Hopefully we maintain a good balance between freedom of speech and maintaining a positive environment in the forums.

We offer far more freedom in these forums than many other sites, but we must temper that with legal and moral requirements.

I'll close this thread now, but your comments have been taken in.

Many thanks,

Oh yeah. He must have seen your avatar Jules to mention moral requirements. You would never be allowed on that site you naughty girl, so you may as well stay with us.

Aye - Andy.

The Bum of the Month Award

He to be the first recipient in honour of transferring SP members to MF members, anyone want to second this...................

I am also a refugee, (any handouts will be gracefully received) and can vouch for everything that Jan, Spannerman etc. have posted. Comical Nobbie is a control freak of the worst type and misuses his power viciously. We're glad to have found a safe haven (even if some of did wear light blue suits) and appreciate the freedom of speech we're finding here. We expect to get a ragging but you will find that most of us can give it back in equal doses. Having said that, can anyone direct me to the nearest bar? :drinking:
