New Language

Post by El Prez »

A Chinese professor has completed a study that confirms many of my thoughts on the destination of our great language. There is an increasing use of, and creation of a new 'Lingua Franca'. A common language useable by an Indian or an Innuit. The basis is English, but not as we know it. The form tends towards mobile speak; eg ok m8 lol btw imho etc etc. The user needs to know the basic codes and can then converse with anybody. The present 11-15 year olds are using it, as we have seen here, and are seeing here. The main group interesting the academics are aged 7, yes seven. They have the code cracked, do not need verbs, adverbs, pronouns, adjectives etc. Capital letters are history. Doh, or should I say doh.
So who will we talk to in years to come when confronted by a telephone answering machine? "Wot u wont, c lect opshun 3 4 phoonrals!"
I think I want to end it now. I still can't suss most of Chris' input.
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.

Sorry but I don't speak TLA's (three lettered abbreviations) or FLA's (four lettered abbreviations).

Or should that read:
soz dnt spk tla r fla
Drums beating, colours flying and bayonets fixed...

I'll sit on the fence regarding this one, although I agree with abreviations of words that are used frequently I would not be happy with an entire language constructed that way.

As far as new words go, I've been desiging new words with my friends all the time, I reguarly send them to oxford but they never reply.

Randimity - Like random but seen as something of ones character

Majestoic - Magic in a regal sense

I have many many more, they are just a taster, anyways I dont want someone claiming my new universal language as their own.

Yes I do make mistakes as well, but I'm a tad fractious, and need to see someone suffer, you'll do!
