how many royal marines are there, and some one told me that 1100 get recruted every year, but if this amount gets recruited this must meen that the same amount get there jobs taken away. :cry: :angel:

You need some reading material my good man, all the information is there if you look for it. (e.g. all the leaflets you get from your local AFCO, books (such as "The Royal Marines" by Julian Thompson)).

As far as I know, it's in the reigon of 6000 or so.

and I think they take in something like 55 lads twice a month, with a dropout rate of > 70% in the first three months.

That drop out rate is quite suprising considering how many people joining seem extremely keen and dedicated.

I'm keen on flying to the moon, but I doubt I could do it. Some people who get in sometimes feel that way too, I'm guessing.
