Further to my last,it has just occurred to me that by attempting to get Derek's work published, further unnecessary pain may be caused, which is of course the last thing I would want.If anyone has, ... or knows of anyone who might have personal objections ... please let me know.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Following on from my earlier post re the possible publication of Dereks' poem, after joint discussion we have decided that due to the very real possibility of publication being construed as insensitive & the likelyhood that such publication could bring this Site into disrepute ... to wait until the ceasefire has been declared & the Lads & Lasses are on their way home & there is no further chance of any more "Knocks at the Door".

Thanks Derek.
I have had to use an older keyboard myself whilst waiting for my best one to dry out. Very well written and from the heart.
Lets hope that it is not something that is ever heard across the UK again

I was listening on Radio 4 at breakfast this morning to one of 'our' mums with a son in Iraq. She lives in Scotland, and they are placing yellow flowers on their War Memorials as a show of support for the troops.
I was really taken by this, so I drove to our small local War Memorial and placed a bunch of daffodils there, with one of Jay's 'Support our Troops' posters.
I walked the dog, (part of my 30 miler training!
), and when I returned, 3 more bunches of yellow flowers had been added!
