I have got that much info on prmc and the actual training I can recite most of it by heart, what I actually want to know is when it's all done and if you get in and you're not on ops what goes on? How do you keep fitness and sharpness levels? What is an ordinary day like?

Living in N.I the only day to day part of military life I see are foot patrols .I am in the cadets though which should give me an idea of the day to day role ; yet they tend to glamourise the lifestyle ,it would be great if one of you guys could tell me what realy goes on after basic training as all the guys from the 1RIR do is sit and eat burgers in the naffi;no offence lads.cheers.

Perhaps it would be easier to answer the technical question as to how long a piece of string is.

How does one define ordinary, as no two days are alike, one day it can rain, next day it may snow.

This is a rather ambiguous question.

Ahoy there!
The great thing about my 22 years in the Corps was that no two days were alike. I'm not saying they were all brilliant though! But you never really knew what was just around the corner, even when there was a programme! Remember, no programme survives contact with Royal! The important thing is to adhere to the old cliche, "remain flexible and maintain a sense of humour".
Yours aye
