As a rider to the last I would like to add
we realise there are readers who can,t reply
but if you are a parent wife girlfriend or some one who has lost someone dear,if you dont want to write but need someone to talk to drop in an EMail,if we can,t help we will put you in touch with some one who can,we may sound crude we may sound bland thats what we are supposed to look like but underneath we have a heart we have feelings,we,ve all been there we,ve all done that i cant say I,ve wore the T shirt they didn,t have them in my day,so dont be alone we,re here to help.

John I agree with your first post, but some of us are computer "Luddites" and the new format has taken a bit of getting used to.
The old message board was very user friendly and had that Bootneck only feel about it.
A big thank you for Tony for running this thing, and for finding a system that is hoped to be more reliable than the last one.

I agree totaly with what you both say,in fact we are basicly saying the same thing,
we know its different and a bit harder.
But part of our training is learning to overcome problems even in the face of adversity,it is this policy that has made the corps what it is to-day, Remember the old saying "the imposible we can achieve, miricles may take a little longer"
"HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU BOTH"

Thanks for the invite! I've been paroosing this site for some time now and have very much enjoyed it. I have on various occation crossed paths with many fine Royal Marines, one of whom I've horiblly tried to keep in contact with. Yes, it has taken some time too get acustom to the new set-up but easy enough. I hope to be able to participate informatively/ or not on the topics open and posiblly have some questions answered. Thanks again, best wishes and good health to you all in this new year. Sandy
I am one of the many silent viewers to your site - the mother of a young serving marine (18 yrs old). I often view your discussions to try to get a closer understanding of my sons lifestyle now. We are not a 'forces' family - Dan is the first we know of to join the Royal Marines and we are very proud of him. I am not qualified to join in your discussions, but thoroughly enjoy your site which has been invaluable to me - not only in helping to understand the strange (to us) language that he comes home with, but also to give me a link with my son.
J,Charles
I,m sure I speak for most on the web site especialy the web master "Tony" I think the first point would be that in the corps we think of each other as family irrispective of age our rank,as a parent of a Royal Marine the gives you the right to say you belong to the family, and that would qualify you to participate in our discussions, but please understand sometimes we forget and stray from the line slightly.
again my I take this opportunity to say welcome to the web site and more important welcome to the family.

Segrigation... Do I hear the shout?
The thing is The lady has had the bottle to say she is feeling closer to her son by reading about us swinging the lamp, and bickering. The way we do.
Great and as the rest of the world can veiw or chats etc then all the better.
I don't think there is any need for "something" separate as IF you want to bring up another subject, got to the top click on NEW TOPIC and away you go. As several of us have done
AND will continue to do so.
Ratso we don't want it getting too big and too many headings otherwise we'll loose the thread.
Well I will cos I was a DL and can only count to three.
To the lady, do you feel comfortable with it as it is?

Not segregation but a new topic under the discussion area. My partner spends a lot of time on here reading as she missed out on my time in the Corps, but she feels it would be good to have an area that was seperate as the threads on here grow too quickly. Nice to read but she would never join in. An area called Family area might just appeal to some of the other people not directly related to the Corps.
I know that there are a few people I have been chating to who thought this was the only part of the message board they had not ventured into the other areas.
