Hey guys, I'm new here! Hope everyone is well.
About a month ago, I sent off my application for Intelligence Officer. I do have hayfever, but it is minimal and if I take benadryl I'm fine!
However, I couldn't lie and had to mention this. So yesterday I recieved a letter saying I can't apply for aircrew until I am 4 years without symptoms, but I'm fit for ground crew (what I want), however, I need to phone to book a presentation at the end of January as they are fully booked now....
What does this entail? Has anyone been through this? What are the waiting lists like, I want this to go so quickly but it seems to be taking an age =(
Thanks all.
Marty

The P2 presentation is something that you go to at your AFCO if you're applying for officer or aircrew, and it gives you a bit more information about the RAF, OASC, what to expect from the training etc. You can't continue with your application until you've been to one.
If you're after IntO, I should warn you that we only take on about 4 each year, and most of them tend to be from within the ranks. That's not to say that you won't get in, because you might, but I would suggest having a 2nd and 3rd choice just in case.
There are open days for officer and aircrew applicants at RAF Cranwell on the last Thursday of the month, you'll probably have missed November's one, (you have to book a place so they can arrange accommodation and send you a rail warrant) but you can ask the AFCO when the next one is. They're usually pretty good, and it means you have a better idea of where everything is when you get to OASC.

Blimey, guess quite a few have left recently then!
That's good news for anyone wanting to join up as an IntO.
There are a few recruitment changes that I know have happened recently, but those are mainly the ones relating to people who are already serving.

A couple of weeks ago, someone on another forum posted a document that was buried deep with in one of the MOD/RAF webpages that gave a breakdown of how many officers and airmen they wanted to recruit in the coming years and it was suprising to see the increase in some of the branches. I'm trying to find it but can't remember with site I saw it on!Hyperlithe wrote:Blimey, guess quite a few have left recently then!
