is the 2 mile CFT still a test in depot, and the battalions? Fxxk that was hard, had a ranger posted to 3 para who couldnt manage the cut off time in two years of trying, said it was the hardest thing he had done in 12 years in the army :D

Yes mate, I think it's a P Company event now too. You also do it on most courses, ie Drill and Duties, Juniors, Seniors, PF Selection etc. I've never had a problem with it, in fact I prefer it to a 10 miler any day! It's a funny old test innit, some of the fittest guys going have problems with it.

There's also the army-wide standard ICFT (also known as the CFT), which is an 8 mile tab caryying 40lbs in two hours. Not to be confused with the old CFT.

Funking hate 2 milers! I've always had dramas with them, I'm a long distance creature myself.

I know the icft, had to do it to get out of headly court, quite embarrasing actually, even being out for 9 months that was the easiest thing ive ever done. Was in depot waiting to go for scoff when lt col brewis came running on to the square amd started screaming at the ptis? we were all wondering what was going on, then a load of blokes started to appear , and he was shouting at them to form up. It was a pre all arms and the staff had them on the cft, and col brewis was the first one in, he went ape, giving it your trained soldiers, just hats who havent got a chance of making it airborne if you cant pass a `simple 2 miles . He went off it, said if people wanted to jack do it now, and about 10-15 of them did. mega impressive when your a young joe, then you did the cft and knew how they felt, . thought it was a lot easier in battalion, dont know why.?

No mate, I'm at the Airborne Trials Section of JADTEU now. I've been jumping at San Diego this week, done 18 jumps in the past 3 days :D . The Freds are out here too, they're running an AFF exped for the Reg at Elsinore. I'm meeting up with them for a few shandies this weekend, as it goes.

Ref the ex Reg guy who runs a DZ out here, I think he may mean Eddie Carrol (ex 2 Para and Freds), who runs Skydive Las Vegas. Hoping to meet up with him out here too, actually. There's an ex Brit PJI working at Skydive San Diego, but he's not running the place.
