PC game Medal of Honor AIRBORNE
Is anyone into this game and if so, what graphics card are you using?
"You'll never take me alive" said he. And his ghost may be heard as you pass by that billabong.
"Who'll come a walzing matilda with me"?

Do you mean a new category for war gamers
One the one level I`d say FRO
However, and in life there is usually a "however", lots of our younger(and even the not so younger) members like all that shit. If you can tie in a drop of sponsorship mate then go for it. New Forum is probably the way forward though it pains me to admit it
What`s this sketch
You haven`t got any mates
`K`sake

Well now lads, firstly lets address the military forum bit.
I was thinking that if a forum has a history section and older guys who are civies these days can but up articles about things that happened before they were born as an interest thing, then there isn't much difference to putting up articles about computer war games such as MOH or COD. Both are based upon actual military history.
Not only that, but certain off duty soldiers, sailors and airmen have been known to play computer games.
Now Gazza I'm pleased to find that there are nice guys on here too.
I am a bit surprised that you are getting good results out of Airborne with a Radeon 1600. If you are, that's great.
Tom, your ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 256mb is now getting long in the tooth and I have looked at it's spec sheet. It is only capable of shader 2 technology they say. But if it is playing it, nice one. See below.
SmartShader™ 2.0
Full support for OpenGL® 2.0 programmable pixel and vertex shaders in hardware
2.0 Pixel Shaders support up to 16 textures per rendering pass
2.0 Vertex Shaders support vertex programs up to 1024 instructions with flow control
New 128-bit per pixel floating point color formats
Shadow volume rendering acceleration
The game seems to demand shader 3 technology and 512 MB as well.
One thing mystifies me here Tom is that a mate has a 9800XT and when he loaded Airborne, it came up with a message that his card didn't support the game.
I have been looking for an 8800GTS at a price I can afford.
You see, "I come from a land downunder, where women throw and men chunder." Down here at the moment 8800s are still $500 plus even on e-bay.
But I can get your 9600 for only $80 as a stopgap.
Your 9600 and the 9800 have been the best of video cards, but with shader 3 and even 4 tech looming, I feel that the next upgrade needs to last me more than the 12 months since I upgraded to my Radeon X800.
Finally, with CRYTEC coming out [the best FPS ever made] I don't want any more problems.
But then guys, CRYTEC isn't a military game and shouldn't be mentioned here.
