The last time was way back in the mid seventy’s when Eddie Merckx did it. In effect, Contador has won this year.

Rocky, that`s not you in the Green Jersey is it, from 1910 :-?

I`ll get me coat
I've never questioned the agreement about not attacking the yellow jersey on the last day because, mainly, the leader has been out of reach by the time they get to Paris. But it's got me wondering this year because any of the top three has the potential to win it. It would have made for an absolutely incredible last day. It would make for a real controversy if one of the teams gave their guy the go-ahead to have a go. Er, well I did predict Cadell would win it, so it's the only way for me prediction to work out. :-?

It's certainly not me! I'm the miserable looking git on the left. Well, they did make me tow me rock over the Alps! How would you be feeling? :-?

How would you be feeling
Devastated mate

Those old timers had it real tough you know, Today`s race is 3500 klicks-ish over twenty odd stages.
They did 5000 ish klicks over far less stages, the mountain stages were on un-surfaced goat tracks, they had no team car, domestiques or mechanics and had to change their own tyres when punctured, the roads were unlit and riders would often be on stages till after midnight :P
I do wonder what those lads from the early years would make of today`s Tour 8)
Well, the fat lady has just sang.
Le Tour de France is over for another twelve months and well done to all who managed to complete. Bit of a surprise today with Bennetti just squeezing Hushovd, hard lines there Thor, try harder. It pays to win!

Just a thought, if Vino hadn’t had that smash he would likely be on the podium today, if not the winner. A lot of people tipped him to win. Why the guy thought blood doping was the way forward astounds me. Hero to zero.
Contador has a great future though, doesn’t he? A mate of mine pinged him in the Paris-Nice as a real go-er! He rode a good Tour.
Same with Evans, he just gets better and now he knows he can win, expect fireworks next year.

The future of the TdF is assured, it will continue it will improve. It will never die. Every Tour is different, every Tour is the same :P
Can you feel it? Do you love it?
Do you have the passion! 8)
