Hi guys im currently writing a java chat for everyone here to use which i will host on my webspace as i think it would benefit the Military Forums and MFAT communities to be able to ask questions and just generally chat in realtime. I have received a lot of help from this site and especially MFAT so wanted to give something back to the community. I also think this would alleviate a lot of the arguements caused through mis-understandings about posts on the forum. As i've seen a lot of posts can be misconstrued as abuse and receive a load of abuse in return starting something which need not be started if the conversation had taken place in realtime ( chat ) Instead of a person posting something not realised how it may be perceived and not checking the forum for 4 or 5 days which by this time every else has given this person a slagging and it has escalated into a needless thread which nobody really wants.

I have currently got a temporary chat set-up on my webspace which you are all welcome to use until the new one is implemented.

i just tried the nickname registration to see what you mean and i only had to enter it twice... once to designate a password and second to confirm...

hope you have better luck later ill add you to auto-op list when you do ok

just try not to have too much fun with the "KICK" function

Hey guys there have been a lot of comings and goings on the chat room but people come ina nd leave cos theres not many people there ( a bit of a vicious circle really ) So i was thinking how about if we set a certain time when a lot of people are on to join the chat?

Maybe 7 o clock?
