Another Newbie to all this...
Ok, so heres my situation.
I have all the neccasary GCSEs (5) I have a GNVQ in ICT and i have an NVQ level 2 in Fabrication and Welding.
I am wanting to join as a General Technician (Workshop) I worked in a Fabrication and welding workshop for two years to gain my Level 2.
I decided i would much rather follow this trade in the RAF. I dont have anything wrong with me and have a resonally good level of fitness. I am 19.
Basically I was just wondering if anybody has any past experience similar to mine who got into the RAF or if anybody knew what my chances would be... I just sent my intrest form off to the AFCO, does anybody know how long it normally takes for them to contact you?
Thanks in advance,

Ok, its just the nearest AFCO is a 30 minute drive away and i dont have transport so i didnt want to make any pointless journeys. If i go in can i arrange an interview if i meet all the right criteria? Or will i have to make another trip before i can arrange an interview?

Ok, i got a letter today through telling me that i have completed the selection tests and the interview. Does this mean i passed the interview or does it just mean i will do the medical and fitness test then i actually apply for the job??? Meaning i wont know if i will actually get into the RAF until a later date?? OR does this mean the job is avaiable and i can have it when i pass my medical and fitness?????????
PLease tell me, i dont want to think i passed the interview and tell people i did if i could still get turned down at a later date.
THANKS!

hey there... when i went to the afco i have the aptitude tests etc... they prob will get a fitness test going with you, (i didnt have to do it) but its quite easy most people pass! you will have to call n to see if the job is open if it is then you go for another interview...
although i heard some afcos do it different... although they technically shouldnt... lol. hope this helps matey!

REFUSE TO LOSE..
Posted this in the wrong thread before.. Sorry
From other thread:
"Well, passed my interview and passed my medical.
Got a fitness test tommorow...
I first walked into the AFCO on the 10th of october. Im really suprised at how fast it has gone.
My trade is classed as "priority" aswell so he said things will be even faster once i pass my fitness test...."

Pretty please with sugar on top: bin the text-speak. I just clocked this. This is a computer you're using, not a mobile.
Thanks.
