Yeah i appreciate the comments but as i said before, please dont judge me on particular incident. And no i didnt want to fight but sometimes you have no choice, again misunderstanding. No offence was caused by your post and i totally understand your perspective. And as for Luton police, the figures dont match what really happens ok, forget about them, im not saying they're all like that but if you got into trouble or saw how they handled trouble, youd soon change your views, also, id like to know where you got your facts from sisyphus??

How dare you sit there and type that about me. Who the hell do you think you are? You dont even know me and yet you seem to have sat there and instantly made up your mind! People like you make me sick, unfotunately, its people like you seem to be the decision makers and most of the time they cock things right up, i imagine your a professional in that area :D and no, please dont correct my spelling, i can spell well enough without having someone like you point out mistakes for me, you're in no position to, so please, dont do it. And ok, let me give you an example, you wrote "you lack the maturity, common sense and level-headedness that an officer in the Royal Marines requires."

Hmmm? How strange, now, lets put this into context. Imagine it was on the field with a RM officer. But this time, it was contact with real weapons. How do you think the officer would react?? The same as me or maybe a little different? Or just stand there like a toffee and do nothing while his troop is attacked... hmmmm, now think if you can, whos really lacking the ability to think clearly??

I didn't come here to argue, but some people wont drop it. If i dont have what it takes i'll soon find out wont i. But should i be accepted, are you willing to question the 'MATURITY' and 'COMMON SENSE' of those that will have selected me? I think not! I think with my BRAIN! not my balls!

Do not ever attack me in a personal way again, that is nothing but sheer ignorance! Because like i have said, you know nothing about me, and i stand by the statement that people like you make me sick! Don't ever jump to conclusions, so don't you ever question my integrity or common sense ever again? Do you understand?? I hope you do sisyphus.

chap, you have brought some of these responses on yourself by poorly wording your post and thus coming across in an immature way.
I understand what your saying in regards that sometimes situations arise and you get caught up in whatever is happening and often there is no way of avoiding it, however if you cannot handle people's responses then you should not wash your dirty linen in public.
You should have just kept this to yourself and dealt with it at AFCO, after all it is up to them whether it will affect your application!!

Yes you are correct in saying that, but i still believe the attacks are uncalled for and i think everyone can see now what i initially intended to do.

b) How dare you sit there and type that about me. Who the hell do you think you are?

c) People like you make me sick and no, please dont correct my spelling, i can spell well enough without having someone like you point out mistakes for me,

d) Hmmm? How strange, now, lets put this into context. Imagine it was on the field with a RM officer. But this time, it was contact with real weapons. How do you think the officer would react?? The same as me or maybe a little different?

e) If i dont have what it takes i'll soon find out wont i. But should i be accepted, are you willing to question the 'MATURITY' and 'COMMON SENSE' of those that will have selected me? I think not! I think with my BRAIN! not my balls!

f) Because like i have said, you know nothing about me
Unfortunately every word you type shows your immaturity and childish nature.

a) Er, try their website, it's not hard to find.

b) I'm an ex Royal Marine with 9 and a half years' service so I've met a
few officers in my time and, believe me, if the rubbish you type is a
reflection of your personality [and it must be] then you wouldn't be
fit to polish the boots of any single officer I served with.

c) But it's not just your spelling. Officers need to be articulate and well
educated - I is not written, or typed, as lowercase 'i', and contracted
words need an apostrophe as in 'don't'.

d) Oh, please! To try and draw an analogy between a Royal
Marines officer leading men in battle and a drunken punch up
outside a take-away is less than pathetic.

e) Don't worry, they won't. If you react like you are to comments on
a forum like this then you certainly won't be able to react to the
pressure you'll get put under in training and, more importantly, what
you'd experience in active service.

f) You'd be surprised how much people reveal about themselves when
they try to put their thoughts in writing.

Ahh right, here we go again. Well i can see now, your still attacking me despite the fact that ive tried to drop it, it just goes to show how much of an arsehole you really are. Ex RM, i personally couldn't care what your background is or if you are even offended by this, that holds no weight over me what so ever. I'll soon see if i have what it takes won't i, and believe me, i know in my heart and in my mind without a doubt! that i CAN do it! So cut out your crap, im not interested, i wouldnt have even typed this post but you obviously wont drop it, so post again, please do, waste your time

Because you seem to be quite an egotistical pig. Like i said, i'll get my chance to see what im made of and what i can be moulded into. Thanks for reading sisyphus, its been great fun!

Well here's another piece of the problem Ajax:
it's a small world and retired RMs do keep in touch with the Corps.
This site has over 3500 members, a good portion of which never seem to post.
Actually, take it as read that some are instructors or RM admin. And they take note how potential recruits interact with current and former Royals.

It is possible that the Corps has changed and is changing. That's why Steve Preece's experiences as described in his book were offensive to some older Marines.
Perhaps it is due to society changing, and not necessarily for the better.

If Sisyphus happened to be your instructor, how would you relate to what he says?

Alright, im going to drop this now. And if sisyphus was my instructor, i would shut my mouth and listen to what he had to say before a beastin or even him giving me a f****** good kick in. There would be nothing i could do about it apart from prove him wrong and give my best, because if he was my instructor i know that he would want me to succeed because if i didnt want to, i would have no place there. I have every respect for anyone who is serving and has served with the RM, they have done what most people cannot, but that does not mean that when im attacked i just stand or sit there ok, it doesn't matter who they are. I hope you can appreciate that and see my perspective. Thank you.

Why should anyone "appreciate" or see your "perspective" when you have presented yourself in such a childish and immature way.
Your attitude stinks, you come across like the kind of chap who would go crying to the papers that your instructors have being bullying you.
You keep claiming people are attacking you in their posts, well it would never have come this far if you were able to take a little bit of criticism earlier in the thread.
You have to admit that anybody serious about potentially becoming an RM officer would do everything possible to avoid any situation that could potentially jeopardise this prospect, but you have proven already that you do not have this small amount of common sense, if you did you wouldn't have ended up in that situation and subsequently wouldn't have ended up starting this thread.
You fcuked up in the first place so there is no point in trying to justify yourself, just take the comments on the chin, learn from the whole episode and move on.

Ajax, I have looked at your posts and you sir are an arse.

You are going to get such a wake up call when or IF you get in.

Remember when your twitching like a shitting dog getting beasted or being tested like you have never been tested before either on or off operations that your not quite as rough and tough as you think you are.

My money is on you not even getting a luck in mate and ending up with the other wannabe's

Ok fair enough, your entitled to your opinion. Yes i hope i throw up numerous times, no i dont act like im tough so believe what you want to, yes i hope my head spins and my body feels like its made of lead and my legs turn to jelly (ive done that one at rugby but i know the RM will be much worse), yes i hope it burns from the muscle fatigue and lactic acid build up and yes it will be the most challenging thing i have ever done in my life. It doesnt put me off one bit, i cant wait for my chance. Yeah i've tried to drop it and, as banch delightfully put it, i'll take it on the chin so please stop with the comments ok. Case closed.
