Are these REALLY our Allies?

Post by IronZan »

Israel has been at it again. Last night they decided to bombard area's of Gaza, yet again, killing 23 people, including 10 kids, using the excuse they were targetting a "terrorist". This rubbish makes me sick to the stomach.

3 Israeli soldiers have been kidnapped. Big deal! The Israeli's have "kidnapped" thousands of Palestinians over the past few years. Not only that, they have killed many many civilians in their raids on Palestinians.

How on earth can we stand by and allow this brutality?

Are we REALLY allies of Israel? If so, this is shameful.

Let me just remind you of the small amount of history, unfortunately very political too!!!
In the 60's you had several wars which involved Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and palestine bombing and fighting the Jews. All this hatred against them to get rid the jews and the land would surely create a natural retaliation?? It was only the might of the Israel army and Airforce, to which the other country's did not realise, that turned the playing field wherby Israel took a huge amount of land from the all the offending countries.
Now I believe this to be fair game in warfare. It was only a natural occurence that the stronger side would win and possess land gained. It was also evident that Israel gave some land back due to religious purposes inany case.

Now when somebody says, or might as well say, 'poor palestine' 'that isnt fair' should look at the other side of the story.
Hamas are just as brutal as the Israel's it just so happens that the forces do not number those of the other side, this doesn't mean we should feel pity on them.

On the contary I do not believe Israel to be innocent of all doings either. This can only be solved politically by both sides and not by a terrorist group whos ideologys and aims are through destruction!?

I've read up tons of material about all this history.

Israel was created by terrorism. Terrorist attacks were carried out against the Palestinian people in 1947/48 to drive them from their homes, making way for the jews from europe who decided this was their "promised" land, promised by "god" in some medieval book.

What did you expect the arabs to do? just stand by? How would britain react if Wales was invaded by an Arab state and the natives murdered or driven out to make way for the arabs who felt this was their promised land? We would defend wales. The arabs done what any sane state would do, defend your friend and neighbour.

Israel's actions are terrorism. Killing 10 kids in one day, delibrately by blowing up their homes is terrorism.

And these are supposed to be britains allies?

Egypt are as much to blame as anybody else, and the rest of the Countries in the region use the plight of the Palestinians to placate their own people and divert attention away from the way they run their Countries.

If there was no Israel a lot of people in the Arab World would be looking over their shoulders.

Falkens top post mate. Nail on head son, nail on head.
Like fork. 8) Ha!
The Israelis are way out of order here and I’ve said many times how they behave like a spoilt child as far as western interests go.(Western Interests means what Elmer tells us to do, btw)
I have every sympathy for the cause of the Palestinian people, much abused as they have been. Hamas can get forked, mind. I remember listening to the radio particularly, but also watching tv news reports as the Israelis fired star shells into Shabra and Shatilla in 82. Names which mean nothing to you and your Sunreaderdotcom view.
Who are the real terrorists here? Given the background of the European Jews who moved into Palestine after WWII I am staggered by their behaviour since the 67 war.
As Iron Zed says, what if it was Wales that the Jews decided was their biblical homeland?
You look at the "Orthodox" Jews who control the Israeli "state" Are they not racists? Is the behaviour of the Israeli Army on occasions too numerous to mention, not state terror?
Open your eyes mate. The Sun isn’t the font of all knowledge, sadly

I remember sitting on a beach on Koh Pha Ngan watching the sun come up over Haad Rin with an Israeli who just left the IDF and a Lebanese girl.

I was a mess from all the Thai whisky with amphetamines in it, but it was a beautiful moment.

They should send Hamas and Mossad to the full moon party.

I remember sitting in a police station in Aden 67 (had to watch them polis mind you). They were all watching the TV when the war broke out and they got sent packing by the Isralies, one of them jumped up and put a chair through the TV.
Didn't get much sleep that night, kept a lad on stag all night watching our backs.

Funnily enough Got1, I was talking to an ex-rockape at a wedding a few weeks ago, his first deployment was in Aden. Was much interesting hearing about what P-coy and so on used to be like back 40 years ago.

You hit the nail on the head harry, HAMAS are a waste of space, how do u think Palestinians are going to get anywhere with them? Just to inform you and shatter your perceptions the sun is not one of my papers of choice. I was also alive in 80 and 82. I hope your views are better than your assumptions?

In answer to the original post question, then no , we're not Allies of Israel.
And nor should we be.
Israel keeps wanting to be the loner, sort out its own mess and eventually, if it keeps going the way it is, it's just going to alienate itself.
'Oi', 'You'!... 'Yes You'! Straighten that fu??ing arm or I'll rip it off and beat you round the head with the soggy end!!

Well I think wondering the desert for forty years, a persons attitude would develop, don't you??

That attitude being, attack me once I will return it ten fold, you would think the rest of the worlds people would get the message.

Israel is used to defending itself, it has too. So Allies or not, Israel is doing what it needs to.

As for civilian's killed, all armed conflict has that. Its a shame but nothing much can be done about it.

So looking at Israel accusing them of been child killers, don't look to hard in your own backyard honey, the day to day life of developed countries, is shocking, with the crimes figures on the increase.

If only 10 kids in the world died per day, I would be very happy, instead of hundreds due to non military conflicts. :-?
