Ra Ra Rumsfeld, top bloke or w4nker?

Post by harry hackedoff »

See Dubya`s said he has every confidence in Rumsfeld. :o
Confidence as in “I`m already interviewing his successor” 8)

None of the former or still serving Members on here were in favour of this war, we could all see it for what it was. It had nowt to do with so called WMDs or “Saddam the Dictator” or the ludicrously titled “War on Terror” It has everything to do with oil, however. :-?
Once the Gravs were on their way then we fully supported what they were doing, not why they were doing it. Lying Blair said he`d show us the proof three times, remember?
Early on in Elmer’s Ground Phase of his Battle Plan, there evolved a two-stage process to remove Sadman. An irresistible armoured assault to mop-up what the fast jet jockeys hadn’t taken out and a containment group to carry out an Iraqi version of “De-Nazification” At the time I remember saying that surrounding and bypassing the towns was the way to go, “let them whither on the vine” I think I said. What I thought would happen was that a containment force would throw an iron wall around the towns and nothing would get in or out without Elmer’s say-so. Then, one by one, the towns would be re-visited by the assaulters who would ”sanitize” each town by force. Civil Law would be in place and every male would be recorded, photographed and his records traced to see who the good guys were and who was fedayeen.
Elmer came up with summat similar all by himself (without asking me! :o ) and when he started to put numbers to taskings, he came up with about 150 K-ish, for the Assault Phase and a similar number to act as Containment. That`s three hundred thousand men, all up.
Now, when Elmer went to see former oil executive with no previous military expertise and Chief Of Defence, Donald “Fugwit” Rumsfeld and his good looking side-kick Trustworthy Wolfabitch, he was told in no uncertain terms to “fark right off there Muskrat” :o Even before the war started, some very senior officials in the Dept of Defense started resigning in protest , together with the top brass who dreamt up the initial plan with the 300 000 Gravs. So acrimonious was the in-fighting that Colin Powell eventually gave up trying to get Dubya to sort the farquar out and told them to poke the job.
The latest batch of Generals saying “Rumsfeld is shite” are only pissing in the wind though. Dubya is secure for the next few years and sorting the Raq out isn’t really his problem there boy.

I hope our Cousins have started to realise what some of us have known for some time. I don’t mean that they are ruled by an arsewipe who puts his foot in his mouth every time he opens it, it`s far more serious than that. :P The most powerful nation in the history of this planet is being cynically manipulated by a vested interest group for profit, for oil dollars.
The whole shit in Iraq is not worth the loss of a single Grav. Those lads don’t get to choose where they go to work, they just do the best job they can. All of those Royals who have been killed so far, the lads from the rest of the Services, the other elements in the Coalition and the thousands from USMC and the rest of the Cuzz. For Profit. For oil dollars.
Rumsfeld should go, so should Bush. And Blair. And all the rest of those hypocrites who talk about “hard choices” I wonder how they sleep knowing how much they are hated.

Recent Court Martial of Crab Doc reminded me of the several lectures about the concept of a Moral Order and a Just War and how that might apply in the present wartime scenario. I actually think Flt Lt Kendal-Smith may have a point. Be interesting to how that pans out, don`t you think? House of Lords will say FRO and then it`s over to International Court of the Hague. Guess what they`ll say 8)
Kendal Smith is a very brave man, all the same.

Yes but another question is - does people have confidence in GWB's opinion! The sentence above presents doubts in my mind without the Gen's judgements.

Another question Bert: why hasn't Rummy resigned yet, to "spend more time with his family" like plenty of others have... 8)

And a small prediction: there may be a lot of folks who will wish that Congress and the White House could successfully exploit immigration as the pivotal issue for the US mid-term elections at the end of '06.

Because if they fail, plan B will very likely be Iran. Then, well, all bets are off. I'm not going to get into the latest Iranian shows of weaponry. I'll just hint at the tanker war of 25 years ago and point out that all it really takes to shut the strait of H. is a multiplicity of threats.

Nowt new here. Evidently progress is made at a satisfactory pace in Iraq, so we can now focus on the Iranians.... No worries. No worries at all.
(that's sarcasm for them who don't know, by the way).

Rummy's needed to design the next success story....
Oh, and here's a pop quiz: who wrote this?:

As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began.
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
And the burnt Fool's bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;

Que!? I meant that GWB saying that he's got confidence in Rumsfeld isn't very reassuring anyway considering his past judgements (i.e to visit Middle Eastern sunner climates), and I would personally have doubts if GWB expressed such confidence in a person without the viewpoint of the General's expressed in the media. Ca va?!

You can't rest your case as you haven't made one yet.

I find that most people who respond with name calling are unwilling or unable to present a logical and concise rebuttal to an argument.

...and yes, I'm grouchy this morning

Aw heck, I know about Paullie. I'm just cranky this morning. :D

As for the NYT, I don't read that either. :o I get a lot of my information from a multitude of sources including Gov't websites. It's amazing what you can come up with.

I agree that Rummy is inept. Our troops deserve better.
