I've already seen a few of the ad's. Just got to keep your eyes open.

There are a few others for the infantry, like armoured and mechanised...but nobody cares about those ones as blokes fast roping out of a heli is much more exciting! 8)

Ref my last on this subject, check out the new Air Assualt advert, now tell me that isn't more exciting than a Warrior/Saxon/boat/bridge etc? I reckon they've done a good job, apart from the bit where they've mixed it in with the club.

What do you mean!? Going out with the lads is a major part of life in the reg as you well know.

Agreed on the "better than a boat, saxon, warrier" comment though!!! 8)

recritment solution?

Post by manucol »

A contensious but innovative idea.

Why don't the paras (and other services) try to recruit potential royal marine recruits that have decided not to continue their training?

After all the elitest nature of both corps should appeal to the same recruits.

It might just be that the royals might not be quite what was expected but the paras might be!

Better a change of code than a loss to the armed forces.

As a matter of fact, 3 blokes who were in my training platoon were ex RM. 2 didnt finish training, and 1 served for 4 years before leaving and rejoining some years later.

Yep, I do know lots about pissing it up in the Reg (do you remember Fives or the Rat Pit? Didn't think so!). What I was getting at is that I thought it was a bit bogus mixing footage of parachuting etc with blokes on the lash. I can see what they're doing though, obviously trying to glam it up a bit for potential recruits.

Similar mate,

On the front it says "God Is Airborne" and there`s a Para badge underneath.
On the back is a Globe and Laurel with a Commando Dagger stuck in it with the words, "He Failed His Commando Course" :P

Here`s to you Toms :drinking:
