Just a random thought - but why would the RAF be involved in "black-ops"?
The only thing that I can think of, is an RAF helicopter picking up an SF team from a precarious situation! That would not necessarily be a "black op"!
And to be quite honest, I don't think that the British SF do any "black ops.". This government would not allow it!

If secret / intelligence things is what you want to do check out the MI5 / MI6 websites and have a look at their recruitment policies, even GCHQ. I don't know an awfull lot about an RAF Intelligence officers job, but i do know from the sounds of it, the career path wont suit what you are looking for.

Can I second Dannyd's comments? If you're serious about applying to the RAF then you'd best do a spot of spill chocking on your posts and written work. If you fill your paperwork for the Armed Forces Careers Office (which is where you need to go) out like that, you aren't going to stand much of a chance at getting to OASC - the assessment centre. However if you do, ask the AFCO to arrange a visit to your nearest RAF Station and to put you in touch with their Int Officers, if they have any. I am sure that they will rapidly disabuse you of any misapprehensions about Int in the armed forces ....dannyd wrote:Maybe I'm biting here, or I'm going to flame for no reason. However.....
1. With your level of spelling, grammar and general grasp of the English language I seriously doubt that you're at uni.
Im in the RAF as an Int Analyst (imagery) and although most of my time is spent on the internet or training, you do get some interesting tasks now and again. Also, my experience of Int Officers isnt great, the name and the reality are two completely different things. You wouldnt do too bad joining up as a normal rank and then go for commision later on when youve got experience.
hope this helps you out mate. just dont expect james bond.
P.S. hey all, ive just discovered this website today so hi everyone

unidentifiable
ill look its bene in papers and all sorts, news of the world daily mail they had statements from 'unidentifiable' sources
well, being from around the merseyside area i thought you'd have heard the sun isnt exactly a distinguished paper
goes back to the hillsborough tragedy when the sun wrote awful things about the liverpool fc supporters. ever since then the paper has been basically out of circulation
the news of the world is a sister paper to it.
anyhoo, black ops? sounds like a CIA term from the movies
how about just covert operations?
that sounds better

My first answer to this thread was a bit derogatory so I supposed I should clean it a bit.
Anyways.
Supatanker. Maybe you should keep your mouth closed about stuff you have no knowledge about?
Instead of 'correcting' a former SBS soldier about the way the SBS operates.

Perhaps you could educate me by telling what military trade sCC stands for in your profile Supa? Because surely you wouldn't put down your occupation as Royal Marine Sea Cadet Corps on this site and then spout bollocks to real soldiers?
