Yes I can see it going that way, always the way with things like that. Most of the ones gobbing off will be either new lads or older blokes that have never left their Battalion I should think. Also you're going to have a bit of jealousy going around.

You're always hoing to have people who are unhappy with change, most of the lads I have spoken to are quite optimistic about the whole thing though. Was this bloke posted to 1 Para as a result of the change (in which case he is bound to be hacked off), or did he go there previously?

Geordie is about my age 50. Was in 2 Para down South.

Whenever we meet up the first thing he does is put his hands in the air and ask me where my Whooley Pulley is! :D He left the Regt about 12 years ago and moved to the Village where I now live.

First time he clocked me was in the Village Local where I was wearing an T Shirt under a jacket with God is Airbourne on the front. Took me jacket of and he clocked he failed the Commando Course printed on the back!

Saying that we are still in touch even though he has left the Village. One day when we both meet up is Rememberance Sunday. And in time we Are going to go inside the Church instead of beating it to the nearest Boozer to YAM SING a few pints whilst the Dudly Do Rights sing Hymns and dream all about their time in the Forces doing exciting stuff like blanket counting!!!

One belting Oppo so he is.

Get a farking life you dopy Prong! If your that sad may I suggest you pull yourself though with a Crimbo Tree!

Wind your neck in and think on this ......To me the only guys I ever trusted whilst working with the Army was the Paras. One C/Sgt Para was my instructor on my SCC at CTRM in 1985. So Just stop being a pratt!

Good King Wenceslas looked out on the Feast of Stephen,
When the snow lay round about, deep and crisp and even.
Brightly shone the moon that night, though the frost was cruel,
When a poor man came in sight, gathering winter fuel.

“Hither, page, and stand by me, if you know it, telling,
Yonder peasant, who is he? Where and what his dwelling?”
“Sire, he lives a good league hence, underneath the mountain,
Right against the forest fence, by Saint Agnes’ fountain.”

“Bring me food and bring me wine, bring me pine logs hither,
You and I will see him dine, when we bear them thither.”
Page and monarch, forth they went, forth they went together,
Through the cold wind’s wild lament and the bitter weather.

“Sire, the night is darker now, and the wind blows stronger,
Fails my heart, I know not how; I can go no longer.”
“Mark my footsteps, my good page, tread now in them boldly,
You shall find the winter’s rage freeze your blood less coldly.”

In his master’s steps he trod, where the snow lay dinted;
Heat was in the very sod which the saint had printed.
Therefore, Christian men, be sure, wealth or rank possessing,
You who now will bless the poor shall yourselves find blessing.

Ref the silly t shirt Artist, I used to have the opposite type (ie God is a Commando, 'cos he failed P coy), must say I stopped wearing that sort of thing some while back. Always good for a bit of banter though.

Ref the HALO jumps, were you in the SA Army then? I have done a lot of HALO/HAHO, but no operational jumps. Am also a mil tandem master, that really is crazy s**t!

Yeah, you're spot on Para 01, that was Canada. The blokes love a bit of drama on the DZ! As long as it's not them!
