I'm back!

Post by Leigh Dowell »

I've been outside for 6 years and it's taken a year to complete the process but on the 10/01/06 I take up the Queens shilling once again, I've just picked up my travel warrant, all I need now are two roll mats and some Sheppy's cider and I'm set :P .

Keep us posted on how you think things have changed.

Not sure I would be able to survive as a DL in these modern PC times.

Then again, I`m sure all the "really" old and bold would say the same

Mention was made over on Tony L's site that the Corp is after blokes who have been out a while to rejoin. Up to the age of 60!!! :o

Drivers and Sigs are what they are after. I suppose they will be employed at places like CTC and the like.

Things must be bloody dire if they need blokes at the age of 60, don't they have barrack stanchions anymore? The three badgers used to tie down those jobs, storeman, driver, etc. but I reckon 3B's are in short supply nowadays, no stamina modern youth. :D :D

Lads
The Corps really has'nt changed all that much, there are very few 3 badgers around but thats because the young guys are probably more ambitous and want more money so those that want it go for it whilst the guys who only want to do a couple of years stay Mne and then move on to other things and thats usualy motivated by cash, a Mne is only paid 13k a year, about 10k less than a new copper gets! then again at least he has mates :o
