All Service "logos" are now copyrighted to prevent their use,
or misuse, in ways which are either inappropriate, disrespectful, or for profit.
At the time, it wasn`t just the Who using the roundel and other symbols, there was a whole "pop-art" movement based on all things British and the Union flag symbol was used the most. Then those nice chaps in the so-called "British Movement" (forerunner of the National Front) hi-jacked that and it`s use now is looked on as racist. Which is a great pity.
