hello people im back !!

Post by tin4tin »

hi thought i would see if the forums are still going and im happy to see that they are. well what a year for my self finally in the army now but i would say its not all been plain sailing :( .

i started my basic training way back on the 21st of feb at atr lichfield. i joined lennox troop in 28 sqn. i got to week 10 and i injured myself on the cft (which you have to pass). i had torn my ankle ligaments. so off i went to rehab (biff) troop. at atr lichfield this is falklands troop. i spent 12 weeks in biff troop and finally got back into with deane drummond troop of c sqn. i joined them in week 8 when they were on nbc. i finally passed out on the 4th if august 3 and half weeks off before i start at gib barracks so anyone wants to ask anything shoot away

Well done Tin, good effort after the injury. Once you`ve settled down to life in the REs whack yer chit in for the All Arms Commando Course 8)
Royal will teach you, amonst other things, that there are actually seven Ps.(No cutting corners see, we do things properly 8) )

See your lot share Ubique with the Gunners. In the REs it means" Everywhere" but in the RA it means "All over the place" as in untidy, an admin vortex :P

Prior preparation and planning prevents piss poor performance

You could have just joined Her Majesties Royal Marines and done the Assault Engineers Course after earning the Green Lid.

No fair does. Well done. Without the Royal Engineers Perce would be buggered big time. Bootnecks just do it themselves.

but i have been thinking of joining the rlc so i could do ammo tech thats the main job i wanted to do but it was too full up at the time of rsc so i decided to join the re's. but seeing what i went through in basic i will stick with the re's now plus i really wanted to be in the engineers anyway

Without the RE's a lot of things would stop dead in their tracks.

Just keep your mind on it and don't spend too many nights in the canteen then you'll sail through.
