anyone got a serious answer for either of these questions?

I read a previous post about regular army being the ones that go to the SAS, and the RM being the ones that form the SBS.

Can someone from the RM apply for the SAS??

are the RM reserves similar to the TA regarding pay, minimum weeks a year etc?

How long would it take in the RM reserves before being elegible to applying for the SAS?

I would suggest the best qualifications you could get would be maths, and physics, plus any other science/maths based subjects. If you look at the kind of qualifications you would need to get sponsorship for a commercial pilot, then I would think that is similar to what the RAF are really ...

Yeh Im sure either of those routes will work!!

What I mean is more like if you want to do it, what trade in the army would you go in as, would you go in as an officer or do neither of this things matter?

Or is a better route in by first joining the royal marines?

Ive searched the internet with google etc and have found nothing. After taking advice on this forum I checked out some of the previous topics and found quite alot of the info I was after.

Theres still something that isnt clear though.
