Firefighter

Hello mate

Although there is a risk. you are likely to never see a real fire. Was talking to a big fat Flight Seargent. He has never had to put out a proper fire in 20 years. He looked like he had spent 20 years eating shite!

Not trying to put you off but not a lot happens. You just get very lazy

Hello mate

In my 5th week of basic training. You don't need to train in another trade if you want to be a PTI. You will go in as acting CPL but not earn Corpral wages for a while. It is however a better and higher paid job than the regiment.

Would go for it if I were you but you need to be fit. My ...

Mate

You've got the final interview to go first (although it's on that day). I would be worrying about that more than just thinking you are going to sign papers and get a kit list.

Your not in yet!! That was the hardest part of the whole process.

The kit you have to buy before you start

Seriously though, I've just got a list of stuff I need before I start my Basic training. Can someone tell me what I can get away with?

What are trouser bungee straps. Do I need an Iron? Should I buy new trainers? Do I need to wear a suit on my first day? Not making demands from anyone but any help ...

Anybody know what a job as an RAF Supplier is like?

Chosen to be an RAF Supplier. Does anybody have any more information on what this job is like. I was told at my interview that you never piss of a supplier because they can get you anything you need.

Not the reason I chose the job but still looking forward to it. Any help would be appreciated ...

Best advice I could give is relax and have an early night before the test. Don't know whether you can fail it although some trades might not be available if you don't get a high enough score.

If you want to be a Tekki, suggest you learn a lot about electrics as that bit was the most difficult for ...

I changed my career choice after a conversation with a Supplier at the AFCO.

They don't mind at all in the early stages so long as you persue what you have chosen after the AST. Wouldn't worry about it mate.
