Yes mate, it's absolutely superb. Gives a very readable account of actions carried out by men and women who have been subsequently recognised for gallantry. Gives a very good insight into what the guys and girls are doing in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Superb documentary although exceptionally sad. I for one did not know the extent of ex forces homeless. Perhaps this is a downside of joining at 16?

25 is your absolute prime, very far from too old. Most athletes in most sports are generally not at their fittest and strongest until 27/28. I wouldn't worry about being too old!

Aircrewman

Hi, does anyone have any information on the Aircrewman specialisation available to Marines? ie. the selection course, competitiveness in getting in, length of service usually required, a bit of detail about the role?

Thanks to anyone who replies.

Yeah I had a crack at this a few years ago. Pretty hard work and as I did the winter one it was freezing, the summer one is called Nettle Warrior i think. The vast majority of it is a cross country run with a difference ie severe hills. The whole obstacle bit isn't too bad as it is at the end of the ...

Not quite true. If you want a good degree then you certainly don't live like a slob and get pissed for three years. It's actually hard graft and a worthwhile experience. I believe that a degree would stand you in good stead for any job as long as you have the accompanying qualities the job requires ...

Cheers for the replies guys. Paratrooper01 i see the point you are making, it would be madness to join the Paras and then not actually do the job of a paratrooper! However, for me being a soldier is what I want to do, I was just just wondering how the Army viewed pro sport. Thanks again for the ...

Squash. I have played at professional level but there is not much cash in it until you hit the world top 40. Catch 22 of the situation is that you need money to get to that level! So I have decided to give the Parachute Regiment a go and was wondering if they would allow me to continue playing at ...

Paratrooper01, any thoughts of the chances of playing professional sport while in the regiment?

Thanks very much
