Technical selection test

I have my RSC in four days and I've just been informed that I will have to undertake the technical selection test. Does anyone know what this is, how hard it is and what I can do to prepare for it?

What happens if you fail the technical selection test?

Also, I have just got my run time down to 11 ...

Hi Training88,

It took me six weeks from taking my BARB to getting my RSC date. I think thats the norm, but it depends on how long it takes for the ACIO to get your medical forms and submit them to the RSC.

I that was a little helpful

Hey Bullettooth,

When you say some people failed the teaming tasks, what do you mean? Is it hard to pass, or were the people just pissing about, etc? Would you say a lot of those that failed were your typical chav?

Another stupid question, but what is the average fitness of recruits there ...

Forgive me, Sticky. In a sense, I knew it was pretty silly to ask that type of question. Thing is, my biggest downfall in this life is my physical side. Academically, not a problem - give me a maths or physics book any day

I'm not overweight or anything, but I am by no means very fit, either ...

Thought I'd post here instead of starting a new thread. Does any have any decent training programmes for someone joining the REME? I've been told I could have an RSC in six weeks, but my running is terrible (1.5 miles in 14 min). How long will it take to get it down to say 10 min? Is six weeks long ...

Last RSC date before xmas

Hey all,

I was just wondering when the last RSC is before christman, and whether they still hold any RSCs during December?

Gives me an idea of how long I could be waiting and that.

Thanks

Thank you guys for replying.

I'm hoping it only takes 6-8 weeks for my RSC, then the next intake, which should be January for the trades I'm looking at. I wish some more people would reply with how far they have got and how long it has taken. I just need an idea of how long its gonna take, so I'm ...

Thanks for replying. Wow, 11 months is rediculous, even 4 is pushing it. I was expecting to be on the next intake this January at the very least. Why make enthusiastic people wait, when they are ready for immediate training?

Anyway, so the recruiter was telling porkies when he said I could be on a ...

Application process

Hi all,

Ok, I passed the BARB test this Monday and have just handed in my medical questionnaire to my GP (hopefully he won't piss about with it  ).

The questions playing the most on my mind at this stage are:

1. The recruiter told me the next intake for my trade is the end of November, then ...

What is competition like for the sigs then? The reason I ask is, because 1) I really want a change my lifestyle and job (as good pay as it is) to something more interesting and worthwhile as soon as possible, and 2) it'd be nice being able to getting in to the sigs as my first choice, rather than ...

Er, thanks Doc... I think

Thats the main question I wanted to ask, but forgot. I'm also wondering about the future of the sigs ie. due to constant defence cuts and regiments disappearing. I understand that the government is looking for a very small, elite like army, so naturally, I'm ...

General questions about sigs

Hi,

Unfortunately, I failed my PRMC - gym test 2, pulled my calf muscle and went down. But, it has given me a chance to see the Army side of things.

I haven't really considered a career in the Army, but after talking to a mate whose just joined and reading some career material sent to me by post ...

Army to SBS?

Hi all,

Was just thinking about the armed forces, and I started wondering if it was possible for someone from the Army (ie Royal Signals) could attempt selection for the SBS. Its been nagging me for a few hours now.

So you know, I am not a walter and although I do have some small ambitions of ...

Hye guys

You really think those are decent scores, ashley? I think they're alright, but I really want to increase them. I reckon I have a chance of passing with them, but all depends on the day. Just out of interest, is there anything you can recommend doing before my PRMC that will help ie running ...

PRMC 20th Sept

Wow, just got home tonight to find a letter on the floor from Her Majestys Service basically confirming that I have been booked in for my PRMC on 27th Sept with my briefing on 29th Aug.

Opps, almost forgot to introduce myself. Ok, I've been browsing these here forums for about a month now and have ...
