Well this is one option im considering for after college, it sounds great on paper, Do Some training and try being an army officer for a year but does anyone have any opinions on it?

Personally im in pretty much the exact position as you,

if it helps im holding off for a surer pass and developement of fitness etc and to do a couple of other things i want to do in life before commiting to military...

Yeah, i definitely want to experience it as PFC first, especially as i will have plenty of time to play 'ossifer when in regs if i want(Apparently positive mental attitude so excuse me :P

Well my logic is that i want to check i want the military life before Going Royal Marines officer as well as doing something interesting. It also seems a good way to combine a part time job and do some interesting stuff.

the best thing to think about is the fact that if they were only 5 feet above the ground as opposed to 30 odd feet then you wouldnt really care would you? Its just walking across a plank or sliding across a rope or whatever but in a different place

What points do people fail on in the actual 32 week course? I hear about assesements on marksmanship first aid, stalking etc are these the parts where people actually get compulsorily kicked out?

I could have sworn that in the case of the young marine who died the disease had taken over his cardio system and it wasnt the fact that he was fit that caused his illness it was the fact that fitness had nothing to do with the illness so anyone would have succumbed? in general though yes fitness ...

Roger that, I definately notice my triceps swelling more and feeling more tired during / right after circuits doing marine style pressups. Going to have to work in some normal pressups as well to keep things even I think (since I'm applying Army).

Im surprised how high the dropout rate is actually. I would have thought that once past the selection drop out is reasonably low, i mean you go to all the trouble of PRMC/POC and any other stuff all that work and years of training and then you just....give up? i mean some people will definitey think ...

Friendly... I definately got more motivation to train harder!! The amount of testing bergen runs etc you get makes you train real hard so that your not the mong at the back!! Join infantry or RMR or something! You'll have a great time as long as you keep your sense of humour!
