If you passed PRMC then you are fit enough to start Recruit training. I think the 10 week program is just for the training team to see what you have been doing since PRMC so it won't matter if you don't have the whole thing filled in.

Sorry, when I started this thread I had written the title as 'recruit training - 30th january'. I think that was because I had just read dalo's post about the 30th of Jan. I'm actually starting on the 13th of March.
Sorry for the confusion Winnie.

Hello, just wondering if anyone else is starting recruit training on this date?
I've bee told Easter leave starts on the 7th of April so we will have 4 weeks training then 2 weeks leave.

Hey

I came over from NZ to join the Marines (which every knows is much harder than the paras 8) ). I just thought I should mention that I've been here for 7 months now waiting to get in. I passed my PRMC in September and start recruit training in March. Thats all due to it taking ages for me to get ...

Hey Shimmy, glad to hear your enjoying it. I've still had no word about when I get to start. I'm pretty sure they've forgotten me. How's Ged doing? Is his big mouth getting him in trouble yet?

Best of luck to you shimmy. Shame I can't get down there at the same time as you and Ged, but i'm sure i'll meet up with you if they ever give me a training date.
Watch out for smiler and remember that most of what Ged says is crap, including anything he might tell you about this weekend. 8)

I'll ...

I'm not quite sure yet but I think I might be starting on this date aswell. I've been waiting 5 months for my security clearance and i'm hoping it will be done any time now. They are just waiting on one final check apparently.

Thanks guys i've been pretty worried about that. I think i'll give the thing with the iron a try. Maybe while i'm at it I could practice ironing some of my clothes. I've heard they might make me iron my clothes every now and again at CTC.

Damaged boots

Hi

I passed my PRMC about 6 weeks ago and i've done a pretty good job of breaking in my boots and they are very comfortable now. The only problem is that they've got some serious scuff marks on them. Mainly at the front above the toes and a few scuffs on the sides.
I've tried polishing them over ...

I would advise getting a pull up bar that goes in your doorframe. I got my one from argos for £7, so it's not too expensive really. Then you should try to do at least pull ups 50 every day. Or you could get into doing a bit of rock climbing, which will have the problem sorted in no time.

I think I will need to post a picture of where I go running. It's by the sea and it's constantly sunny. There was even a baby seal sitting by the footpath yesterday. I think I will retire back to New Zealand. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to retire to a sunny paradise.

Hello everyone.
Although posts may have declined a bit recently, I think this forum still means a lot to a lot of people.
I think it would be good to hear more tales from you oldies of your time in training, and what you thought of it when you first joined up and had no military experience and it ...
