Thanks for the good info guys specially adj125. I have read the whole bill through closely and the problem it seems is, that even if you are granted permission by the SA gov (you also have to pay them!!) you will be fine until you enter a conflict zone and then the whole thing becomes null and void ...

Well I certainly hope so because if it does pass it means I won't even be able to visit SA for a holiday at all until I get UK citizenship which could take 6 yrs or more!! That may just change my mind.

Anyone else with some more info?

Thanks,
Cheers

I have passed RSC and am due to start training soon with the Parachute Regiment. I am a South African on a SA passport.

How long does RSC last?

Hi guys,

I have a major dillemma and I was hoping I could get some help and advice.

I have my RSC in a weeks time. I am most likely going for the Grenadier Guards, and later hopefully Sandhurst and then the Paras. I have bad shin splints, and it really hurts to run (even when my legs are warmed ...

Neck Injury, RSC Help??

HI there guys,

I have my RSC date set for the 16th of Jan (I am going for the Grenadier Guards). The thing is I recently hurt my neck and haven't been able to train for 2 weeks, and it looks like I won't be able to (at least very intensely) train hard for another week still.

Basically I need some ...

Final interview before RSC

Hi there,

I know there have been lots of posts on this subject, but I was really hoping to get some solid advice from people who have been there and done it. I don't really know what to expect (It's all happening pretty quickly as I have only just arrived in the country!).

Any help and advice ...

Hey Jay,

Am at exactly the same place as you, just passed my BARB test and going in for my two interviews this monday!

I got 51 for my test and thought I had done really badly until he told me it was out of 60?? Obviously not every test is the same.

Same here, any advice for the interviews would ...

Anyone else?
I know this will sound even more like a wannabe question, but the thing is it may effect my decision as to whether to go through the ranks and become an officer (a big if), then serve my time and then try out for selection (a very long road but could be worth it), or to just go ...

Thanks Jobag,

Will do, you have been an immense help. Much appreciated.
Maybe I will see in the Paras one day. That's if I get picked for Sandhurst quickly and then get a commission in the Paras, and that's a big if!!!!! At least I will have loads of time to prepare for P company though ...

Thanks for all the quick responses guys.

I am still unsure about what to do though. On one hand I am told that they won't notice them so don't say anything, or that you can use them (there is a similar thread in the RM section where someone has been allowed to use specially designed orthotics in RM ...
