"We wuz robbed"

Again I watched this game (and that is all it is) from an objective point of view, the Portuguese on the night were the better team with their drive and charisma, sometimes lacking in the English teams efforts.

You have to have the WILL to win games, Beckham and Gerrard didn't appear to have that WILL whilst Campbell and Cole did. It was still a very poor refereeing decision in my opinion but there is nothing we can do about it, the result stands, we lost on penalties and the penalty spot was the same for both teams! :-?

It's a pity the Swiss berk of a referee didn't think to apply some of his country's infamous 'neutrality' to the field of sporting acheivement.

Still can't understand why they don't have a 4th official in footie like they do in Rugby, I don't hold with all that 'it'll slow the game down' cr*p - perhaps UEFA and the FA are nervous that'll it'll show their referees to be less than competant.

URL for the w@#k website? The portuguese played us off the park and deserved to win but the ref needs glasses. Or a kick up the arse. or both  .

Its only a game, dont need all this rioting and violence etc. Just brings the reputation of the country down. Dickheads.

it was like the french game, they, in 40 minutes hardly troubles James, he couldnt save either goal really...we where too good for them to break down.

shite game plan though, who defends a one goal lead for 90 minutes!

Assasinate the Ref anyone?

During the last 2 weeks Italy lost,Germany lost, Spain lost,England lost.In rugby England lost ,Wales lost,Scotland lost.Henman lost and will lose again.Do I care ?Only for a couple of minutes after the result.Until they get better ,bury it and move on.

When the World Cup (the Real One) was on last year, the hype was unbelievable
Now that the Wallabys have beaten England, there`s hardly any of the "crowing" I`d have expected. Any thoughts on the game :-?

I don't think its all bad for England. They have suffered many losses of older players and the also have several injuries and a few suspensions. The performance wasn't too bad considering. I definately don't think its fair for all the papers to start asking questions about Sir Clive Woodwards position just because of a few bad games. I'm keeping the faith and hopefully come November it will be a different story.

I don't think it's fair the way the media always tries to pin the blame for our sporting defeats on just one person. First Beckham supposedly single-handedly lost us Euro '04, now Clive Woodward is failing us with the rugby. These are TEAM games, won and lost by a whole group of people, not an individual. And right now we seem to be losing more than winning, but it won't necessarily always be the case.
