Do They Keep Photo's On File ?

Post by brogueboy »

I was wondering if official photo's taken of marines are kept on file or are the negs destroyed, i'm after a picy of my brother in his blue's, the original one has been lost and our mother would love to get a replacement, (immense pride in her son) 1 out of four's not bad, he was in 40c - B comp, 1971-1977, i can source his number and all other information that would be needed from the man himself, would i start my enquiries at taunton ? or can somebody point me in a more direct route ?
i would appreciate any suggestions given ( but sarcastic ones must make me laugh ) so come on guys and gals get that grey matter working and help me to make a very proud mother and bruv happy.

BB the photo of his Kings Squad will still be on the wall at CTC. You could start by giving them his name, service number and King Squad number. They may be able to point you towards, the photographer, or get a scan of the original photo done as a favour. Write to the CO and he'll pass it down the line.
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.

You could always find out his squad/troop number and post on the find an oppo forum. One of his old oppo's might be able to help - you might be able to get a copy of theirs. Long shot but worth a try.
