Ground Combat

Post by Mutley »

Don't you find it enlightening - that to date nobody has a single thing to say about the Army's Ground Combat?

"Be the Best", NOT

I don't think they do it any more, must be something to do with Naff Labour. Blair is still a cult.

Doesn't he make you want to give up the cut and thrust at times; latent melancholia creeps up, depressing my supposedly irrepressible optimism and then I think sod it, he asks for all the shite he gets.
Must be something to do with his brown furry coating eating into his nervous system. :(

The whole mass airborne thing was Churchills idea; but then again as a scholar he would behold:

negatory buddie,
One thing the commies did was to be the first at trying to drop troops from an aeroplane. Kraut Gen. Student made them do it in Germany and boy they sure are good. Finished now I guess if evry peasant in third world can take out a Herk with a shoulder fired SAM. One question are you boys Marines? or do you just join in for fun. Been watchin the stuff y`all say. Cantdecide but sure will soon

Hey it's one of Elmers finest. Yes most of us wear or wore the green beret, but there are visitors (muchos welcome) who wear something in a cosy shade of claret; Airhorn we hear them cry, and we reply Geranium, their only certified war hero.

Mike, you don`t have to call this guy Sir.
He`s a Gunnery Sgt so call him Gunney, like Colour Sgt is Colours.

Sorry Grungey, according to a biography on Winney he first thought of the idea of mass airborne assaultduring the first world war but was not in a position to do anything about it until WW2. It was then his gritted insistence against the Top Brass reluctance (they thought the idea was untenable, and not cricket -a bit like the attitude to subs at the turn of the century).

Although HG Wells had previously written about an army from the air in the 1890s yes I did say 1890s.
