thanks guys
cheers, i think i know but im not certain, i just need reassurance. Is it that the officers cap badge is silver and the ratings is bronze OR that the officers dont have to clean there cap badge, come on giz a hint. cheers.
You buy one in Gieves & Hawkes and the other in Slops. So if the question is what is different about the BERET its gotta be the price and the colour!

Well Rolfaroo,
Firstly HAY is what horses eat and secondly ratings are in the Royal Navy.
I would have thought that anyone going for an interview for ANY job would do some research before they went. There is ample information about the Royal Marines on the web plus books of course, but they are probably out of fashion.
Given your form to date, I very much doubt if you will be wearing an officers uniform in the RM. I'd try the Pioneer Corps if I was you.
Have a nice day

Your answer to your problem is the way the badge is made. You must have some glossy brochures from the recruiting office. Look at the Globe & Laurel.
A Ranks Globe & Laurel is ................
An Officers Globe & Laurel is ...............
A Flag Officers Cap badge is ......................
It's not the colour although there is a difference here as well.......
A Ranks Globe & Laurel Colour is.............. otherwise known as ...............
An Officers Globe & Laurel Colours are ...............
A bit of homework for you. You need to be reading Corps history to include VC winner's famous battles the history behind the Globe & Laurel and subjects like this to have a clue at an interview. The Royal Marines pride themselves on their history and during training you will need to know the subject in depth. I am surprised that you have not been advised of this......

Post your answers and they can be checked.
May I also suggest a day at the Corps Museum, everything you need to know is there and one of the best military museums around........
Not far from you and a good day out..... if your serious about joining that is.
Happy Hunting...................
Cheers Dev.....

Isn't it wonderful that in this day of information overload, good old fashion 'turn the page' reading seems to be a no-go area to the young people of today. So let me have a bash:

rolfaroo, , you seem:
1. Forgetful, you can't remember how many interviews
2. Incoherent, inordinate and illiterate
3. Unashamedly debased, you failed to note you used
4. Unabashed.
I think with a good SNCO behind you you will make an excellent Rupert. Just promise to post your first S206 on this site!

Groovy Moves
Having carefully studied the moves of you both I'm not sure which I'd prefer, mmmmmmmm. I might have to put it to a vote, but before that lets get some other nominees.
So come on, post your recommendations, complete with supporting dits of course:
