Joining Military With Depression?
I am wanting to join the military soon but I am really worried I wont be allowed to because I was treated for almost a year for depression and hospitalized twice. I've been told once you turn 18 the army can't get access to your records from when you were younger. I was around 15 then and I'm 17 now, so is this true? I am fine now and have been off my meds for a long time, my recruiter won't answer my question about it at the moment, so do any of you know? Please..

When you think what you can go through in the forces, joining with depression is not a good idea and the army would also look at it along those lines

As someone serving who has developed anxiety, I would suggest seriously thinking about this decision. Some of the situations you might have to deal with would be really hard on anyone, and any previous injury whether physical or mental can leave you more vulnerable.
You can have peace.
Or you can have freedom.
Don't ever count on having both at once.

Or you can have freedom.
