Skilled Operators – various trades (e.g. Mech. Fitters, Electricians, Fabrications)
Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Skilled Operators to work on our Military platforms which include Typhoon, F35 Lightning II, Hawk, Tornado and Future Combat Air Systems at Military Air & Information’s (MAI’s) Warton / Samlesbury sites.

As a Skilled Operator your key responsibilities will include:

Completion of manufacturing tasks in line with engineering drawings and manufacturing process planning’s.
Fostering a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and challenging inefficiency or poor working practices.
Implementing and driving lean improvement initiatives.
Working as directed by Team Managers and Supervisors.
Ensuring that all work performed within the areas of responsibility is conducted in accordance with current Health and Safety and Environmental Protection legislation.
Using the relevant Manufacturing IT System as the engineering recording media.
Complying with the Quality Management System.

As a Skilled Operator your key skills and qualifications will include:

Completion of a recognised craft apprenticeship and able to provide the correct skilled credentials.
Understanding of and compliance with FOD and tool control.
Practical problem solving ability.
Awareness of Health and Safety rules and regulations.
Previous Fast Jet experience on one of our platforms (Typhoon / F35 Lightning II /, Hawk or Future Combat Air Systems) is desirable but not essential.

What we're looking for in you:

You will be working as part of a manufacturing team therefore it is crucial that you are a good team worker. You should be enthusiastic; self-motivated and be able to demonstrate excellent communication and team working skills. You will be required to interface with the support areas including Quality, Logistics, Engineering and SHE.

Salary £27,954 - £31,620
