Hi there new to the forum and looking for some help. I have been interested in joining the army for a while now and just last week and spoke to one of the recruiters up there and she took me through my interest form and stuff. And then took me to get my height and weight measured ( Iam 92kg and 6ft.) which makes my BMI 27.4 ish and then got told to lose 7kg which I accepted and now in the process of doing. I then came home and spoke to the Army's Live chat system and asked what was the requirements for me to get into the army? He said between 18-28, it then left me puzzled and I dont know what to do now? Do I keep losing weight or go back up?
And one other thing if someone could help me with it is what kind of things can fail your medical?
Thanks guys
Adam

Re: Help Needed!
You always want a low BMI so no, don't put weight on. Everyone's BMI will be different as it's calculated by height and weight so go on what your recruiter has told you already. Mine was only just over and I lost a stone in a month after my BARB test, you have to loose a stone too which is really easy if you are motivated to join up. Just make sure you keep it off. Don't use a stupid diet like weight watchers or slimming shakes etc.
Just reduce your calerie intake per day and if you're starting running and fitness for the army it will drop off and stay off.
As for you medical history, as long as you have nothing major in the last 3 years you will be fine... But the likes of eczema may delay your application if they need to know more about it. The recruiter can answer any questions you have so don't be afraid to ask mate

When you look at Rugby players then none of them would pass that test and the Army would have to label them all unfit.
