Extremely sudden and very sad. As said, I received my last lot of E mails from Paul on the 3rd of January and he passed on the night of 5th...
I have asked my contact for more info and enclose the reply received today - I'll come back with the funeral details as they arrive. Paul had circulatory problems and was seemingly on medication and was waiting for a stent type procedure. As you will see Paul was only 58.

I have asked for more information and publish here the reply -
"Paul was 58 years old. His first wife, son and daughter came to Bedford yesterday to meet me at his flat. I (at Pauls request years ago) squared away his flat and handed over keys etc. The family will be coming over on Friday to pick up the rest o his belongings. These include beret, pay books and some first world war brass shell cases from his fathers service. Due to lack of organisation by the local coroner we do not have a date for the funeral yet. As soon as i have a date etc I will let you all know. I suspect it will be at Bedford crematorium. If anyone wishes to attend let me know and I will try to arrange some local, reasonable accommodation if required as well as a venue to meet up afterwards.

I have know Paul for about 4 1/2 years. He passed away on Sat night / sun morning due to a heart attack in his sleep. We found him in his armchair on Sunday morning. Paul had suffered from bad circulation for a while and I had taken him into the local hospital just before Christmas. He had thought that he may have needed a couple of operations to put stents in his legs. The hospital changed his medication and things seemed to be improving. His mobility and endurance were increasing. Although not an official Carer i took Paul out and about and spoke to him most days, providing transport where needed. In his time Paul had been married three times and had 3 children and five grandchildren. He had texted me only the other day to announce that Grandchild number five was “under Construction”. Holding dual English and American citizenship he had spent many years in America working for Virgin, driving a truck and then ended up in Hednerson County as Sheriffs Deputy. He returned to the UK about six years ago. I will miss him and his sense of humour.
