Broken bones ?

Hello, I had passed everything for the army, I got all the way through to the start date point, then I broke my ankle.. The doctor said it will be healed within 6-8 weeks, why have the army defered me from the army for 1 year, I could understand If it was a major brake but it is extremely minor :/ any ideas ?

I had broken a number of bones as a nipper but it did not stop them calling me up or for me to wind up in the Parachute Regiment

How long should I be defered ? I broke my ankle 4 weeks ago and am due to start training on the 8th of October, do you think a year federal is fair ?

They say a year, but I've heard of circumstances when they make the deferral shorter, if you can prove it's completely healed, they just don't want people joining and then having to leave due to previous injuries.

I got a 3 Month deferral for a Heart Merma, which was reduced to a 2 week deferral after seeing a heart specialist, and finding out there was nothing wrong with me.

It's not just the time it'll take to heal, you'll need a bit longer to get back to full strength and fitness on it. It won't take you a year, but by the same token don't rush it - it's better to take a bit longer and be 100% on it than to hurry it and wind up making it worse.
