I have been doing a lot of family research and discovered that my fathers Cousin was killed in the assault on port said in 1956.
His details are;
David Howard 42 Commando
RM 15145
Killed in Action 6/11/1956
I have found his grave stone in Kings Lynn, bit no photos seem to exist that i can find except a small one of his face on the website written by Angus Jones. Any help would be welcome as I am proud of this family member, who lost his life in war at the far to young age of 19.

Re: David Howard 42 Commando
Now that is one of the wars that no one remembers, when you think that the first wave ashore was 50,000 fighting men, and that there were a million men under arms at this time and even the WW2 Vets had been recalled to the colours. Britain had five aircraft carriers there and it was the first time that Helicopters were used to in an assault.
Still you might find this site a help to you Britain's Small Wars which is run by a couple of Americans.
