Hi all!
So, I am actually not in the UK military myself, but I have served in the Norwegian Military for about 5 years now and I am currently working with NATO forces, including brits. And earlier today it hit me that there must be an Android app that would help me remember military ranks from different countries. The UK isnt too bad, but the Germans have tons of ranks, at least in the Army, and I am really struggling to tell them apart.
Anyways, a quick search and I found two alternatives.
Military Ranks and
Global Military Ranks Free. Both are free although There is paid version of the Global Military Ranks one, details
here.
So I decided to try them all. Military Ranks (the first one I mentioned) turned out to be somewhat of a bummer, really. Fair enough, it has the UK ranks, but apart from that the selection of countries is rather low and even though the developer promised more countries ages ago, it seems nothing came of it. the app also looks fugly compared to the other one.
Global Military Ranks is awesome I think, both the free and the paid version, really. The only difference is that the paid version has a test-yourself mode which was kinda cool and useful and has turned out to be the primary way for me to learn ranks.
So anyhow, I just coulndt sleep so figured I would share something with you all!
